Driver Sata Sysprep
I have created an base Windows XP Pro SP3 image on a HP DC5700 (ICH 8 Sata Controller) When I sysprep this and make an image of it and want to andykn Altiris Guru I'm doing a hardware independent XP SP3 image for a client with Lenovo PCs (A50, M55, M57, M58p) that have the Intel ICH chipsets. I could never get it to work from a floppy even with the modded drivers. Users with such chipset, who want to use the AHCI features nevertheless, may use a special driver package I have prepared with the help of Lancelot_Real (big thanks to him!). navigate here

You said that "sysprep fails" and "ICH6 does not work with sysprep" but what is the error? Can you use telekinesis to get a friend out of a gelatinous cube? In the learning experience, I imaged the ide bootable hard drive to a firewire drive. Per Dell Support SATA AHCI option should only be enabled if the OS is Windows Vista.

Booted to XP, found new hardware, did its thing successfully.

USB floppy is not an option as the image needs to be a standalone image that I can deploy on a DVD to anywhere in the SEA region which I support.
