My question is twofold:1) how do i get xp to install2) can sata hdd work as a standalone hdd, or do they have to be configured as raid. Board installed in a HP PC. Sata hdd for intel d865 glc motherboard? Wd 80gb sata / port 1Wd 160gb ide / port 2 (I will eventually get a hold of another 80gb wd to raid them up.

and it did not take to much reading to find out that there are several things "optional" and the SATA is one of them. I searched in the drivers section on the asus website but there is no windows 7 option as an operating system. I right clicked and looked at the hardware >> area of the information and it is not there either. If the new HD is SATAIII then return it and get a SATA I or SATA II model.
