Now it turns out that the Bell Mobility firmware for this phone seems to be different enough from the US version that BitPim simply won't work for writing to the phonebook. In my Device Manager, all I have is a "SAMSUNG CDMA Technologies" device, but it is not functional, as it tells me drivers have not / cannot be installed. This version is supposed to be better in sync with Windows 7, but since I got the first version to work I didn't bother trying v1.5. BitPim downloaded the photos as "wallpapers" and it took a long time, but I was able to export them perfectly fine. Other than the users guide in pdf form, I cannot find much information on it and that includes samsung.com itself!
